So a few weekends ago, I had the friday off so we decided to go hiking. Peter had found this really neat place down by Garden of the Gods.. but when we got down there.. it is closed on the weekends. The land is owned by a Christan Chruch and they have conferences there on the weekends. We are going to try to get up there one of these days. So then we deicded we would just drive and see what we came upon. Well we drove and we drove and we drove. We didn't really find anything. Dakota was getting restless and needed to get out. So Peter pulled over at a little spot in the road were there river was. We got out and played around a litle bit and just relaxed. The water was really cold.. but we had a good time, condidering how much driving we did.

Not to shabby for a Saturday night
Tonight we got to ride in a 1967 Fire Truck. Dakota loved it. He loves "Fire gengen." My cousin is the district manager for Jiffy Lube here in Denver and his boss owns this fire truck. It looks a lot like Red from the movie Cars. There was a car show down in a different part of town, there were some pretty cool cars. We went to dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory.. Dakota, Justin, Hunter and Hayden all got balloon hats from Paul(he is actually in our ward at church) We had a nice night with family. I am so happy we have family close Thanks for the ride!

LIFE IS BUSY!
Life has been very busy lately. My parents came into town for the weekend, it was wonderful having them here. We went to Parker days on Friday night, Dakota wanted to ride the little train, but started to cry when I put him in the seat, so mommy had to ride with him, oh what a joy that was =) the things we do for our children(pictures to follow). Saturday we didn't do much, mom and I went shopping for Father's day, and then went to my cousins house for dinner in the Springs. I thought I had done really good in picking something for Peter that he wouldn't know what it was. But as soon as he saw the wrapping he knew what I had gotten him. I bought him a fishing pole with everything he would need except for the worms. I am hoping we can get out on a few camp outs this year. Maybe this will motivate us to go so he can use it. It was nice to have my parents here for Father's day. It brings back memories of holiday back home, every holiday was a grand event in the Burris(my maiden) household. Present, games of base ball in the back yard, BBQ (which to us was Hamburgers and hot dogs), and cake.. always cake. It was nice to have some traditions back in the house. I wanted to tell Peter how much I love him, and how grateful I am to have him as Dakota's Daddy... He is a very kind fun loving, playful daddy. Dakota loves you so much! Thanks for all you do for him and me. Hope you had a good father's day.
Work is stressful. Peter is getting ready for a camp out at the end of the month. I will be working my last drill weekend this coming Saturday, then no more drill weekends for me. Dakota is learning (or trying to learn) to go potty in "his" potty that grandma bought him. There is a lot going on with the family this month and we wish we could be back in South Carolina to celebrate with everyone. We wish James and Gabby a very happy wedding day.
I just wanted to take some time and give a little update. All is well in the Ouzts house. We have been very blessed as a family.

Zoo Time
Yesterday, Peter got up and went to help a family move from one house to another, Dakota and went to breakfast at Waffle house since we don't get to have breakfast together every often. After Peter got back from the move, we decided to go to the zoo. We hadn't been in a long time, and Dakota is getting really good at knowing what the animals are. We had a good time. It was a beautiful day, and the zoo wasn't that crowded. We all love the zoo... We had bought Dakota a hat before we went in, it was a super cute hat, then somewhere in the Tropical Discovery house, he lost it, Peter went back to find it, but no luck. I was so bummed. So in the first few pictures you will see his hat, but as the day goes on.. no more hat. Dakota was being a little stinker yesterday, he didn't want his picture taken for nothing. But we did some cute ones. Hope everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather
Dakota loves the Elephants! Everything is a baby 'funant'
We gave him a choose the Carousel or the Train he wanted to the Carousel, but didn't like it too much when we got on. But he did a good job staying on the Elephant
Daddy and Dakota playing the drums.
