Snow day/Play Day

So tuesday night we had a pretty big (very wet) snow storm hit. In the Parker area we got 9 inches of heavy wet snow.

So I got the day off of work.. Dakota and I got to spend the day together. We had breakfast, went to his new "school" and picked up his resigation stuff, did laundry, cleaned the house, had lunch (all the normal stuff), then I told him he needed to go in and lay down on his bed after the initial fit throwing that he does... I was doing some more laundry and cleaning, then I heard him talking and this is what I found...

He loves to read. So I don't mind if he is doing this instead of sleeping... He was reading about the Earth, and singing Twinkle twinkle little star.

We love having Ellie as part of our family. She is one funny dog. We have a great time at puppy classes and she is doing really well. This is how she loves to sleep. She has also over taken Dakota's little couch. We love Ellie.

As I mentioned above Dakota is going to start going to "school" we have decided to put him in a full time day care center. which we refer to as "school"... He will start on Monday morning. We are so excited for him to start this new adventure in his life... Mom and dad will both go with him on monday morning to his first day.. (more to come about this new adventure)

Dakota is our little helper, he wants to help us do everything we are doing. And sometimes we have to tell our selves it's okay to let him help even though it may take us twice as long. This is our little movie star doing the dishes.

Disney on Ice

I bought us tickets to go see Disney on Ice. I love anything Disney!.. So Peter and Dakota met me at work Downtown yesterday, we went to dinner at a great little mexican place downtown, then off to the show. Dakota got to wear his buzz light year PJ's. He looked so freakin' cute. The show was awesome. We had nachos and cotton candy! I wanted a crown with Mickey ears but it was to small for my head.. so Dakota got to wear it all night.. LOL. The show was amazing. I can't imagine trying to skate with those costumes on, but those skaters did amazing things. My favorite part was probably Beauty and the Beast and all the prince and princesses. Dakota liked Buzz lightyear, Woody and Jessie. As we were heading back to the car, I said to Dakota.. "What did you think Dakota? Did you like it?" He thought for a moment.. and said "I LOVED IT!"... he is going to be my partner in love for all things Disney! Here are a few pictures from the night.

THE FUN HAS STARTED

Dakota's birthday is about a month and half away... but I have already bought most of the stuff, and planned out the whole day. (hopefully it goes as planned). I love birthday days. They are so important. That is your day.. A day that is all yours and no one can take that away. I love planning and making it special for Dakota. Birthdays were always such a big deal in my family, I want to make sure Dakota feels special each year on his birthday. This year he has decided on a Cowboy theme birthday. I start asking him in about November what kind of birthday he wants, he started with Transformers, then went to star wars, ( I am not big on typical themed birthdays.. ie movies or cartoon charters birthday) then he got a pair of cowboy boots for Christmas. So in Januaray I asked him again what kind of birthday he wanted he said "a cowboy party"... this theme stuck.. which is great for us.. as I am a lover of all things country... So I have had a blast planning this party. We have some awesome friend that live on a little big of land, and they are willing to let us use there back yard (praying that the weather cooroperates this year, last year there was a blizzard on his birthday).. but either way I have it all planned in my head for either an outside or inside birthday... I can't wait to have it all play out the way I can see it. I will for sure post picutres.. I hope it all works out for him. I think I have as much fun planning as he does actually having his friends come and celebrate his birthday!
