Autumn Part 1

We had a wonderful time up in the Rockies this past Saturday. Not as colorful as the Smokey Mountains, but very beautiful to see the aspen's in gold. We do love going up to the mountains and lately have tried going to somewhat different areas. We did this drive last fall but at a faster pace, so it was nice to stop and linger a little longer up in the Mount Evens area. We took some pictures at a stop halfway up to the lodge area, and then had lunch up at the lodge just in time to see it start to sleet pretty good. Jennifer really enjoyed the frozen precipitation as fall has just begun, atleast it wasnt sticking yet while we were there. It was a nice lunch and our timing was great because the crowd really picked up as we were leaving with the weather outside. We didnt get any pictures of the sleet but a few of us and the Golden Aspens.

Lesson learned....

If you have a glass pan, do not sit it on a hot burner. IT WILL EXPLODE. We know, we have done it twice now. I had a whole pan of yummy enchilada's go in the trash tonight. Peter had the same thing happen a few days ago, with a chicken and cheese casserole. So a word to those who do not know this... and to keep you from having to clean up a huge mess... Don't sit a glass pan on a hot burner. I had no idea it would explode. Just thought I would share our lesson we had to learn the hard way twice.

Time Flies

So much has gone on the last few months. I have been meaning to write for awhile now, but I am finally getting around to getting this written.

We have been pretty busy. We have been camping, to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, had our first real tornado warning, lots of rain and the cool weather is setting in.
So I guess we should start with our camping trip over Labor day weekend. We went with some friends from church. We had a great time. We love to camp, but it's always fun to go with other families. Dakota had a good time playing with the girls and with Josh. We went to a beautiful place up in the mountains. To a park called Golden Gate Canyon state park. The camping site was beautiful, the drive up to the camp site, I could have done without. It was very up hill and steep inclines. But we had a good Friday night, roasting marshmallows, and sitting around talking. We were only there one night, but I am sure if we stay in the area, we will for sure go again up there.
Dakota loved the train...

We came home Saturday and really didn't do anything else. Sunday we went to church, then on Monday which was Labor day, we went with our friends from Cheyenne to the Cheyenne mountain zoo. Dakota had a good time with TJ. They boys loved going on the train and hanging out together. And as always we enjoyed the company of Maria and Tyler. It was a nice relaxing labor day.

Lately the weather has been getting cool and raining. It's great for the land and whatnot, but not so great for Jennifer, as this means that summer is over, and fall and winter are here. I had my advancement exam on 9/11. I feel good about it. But we will have to wait until about the end of November to find out how I did, and what is in store for us as a family. But I have put this in the Lord's hand. I know He will take care of us. We might not always have everything we want, but we will have everything we need.
We have a trip planned to California for my niece's wedding. We are also going to take Dakota to Disneyland, and maybe sea world or something. We are looking forward to going in Nov as we will get out of the cold for awhile.
I think this has caught us up to the current time.
